State Representative Mary E. González announce that the Fabens HHSC Eligibility Office will stay open for an additional seven months.

"This is a significant accomplishment for the residents of the Lower Valley and shows the power communities hold when they work together," said Rep. Mary E. González.

Rep. Mary González, alongside Senator José Rodriguez, have worked to delay the Fabens office closing twice now.

After meeting with over 100 Lower Valley constituents, HHSC Executive Commissioner Kyle Janek has made the decision to delay closing this vital office.

Additionally, Rep. González and Senator Rodriguez hosted a town hall in Fabens earlier this month where Commissioner Janek spoke in front of over 100 Lower Valley constituents.

"Since the end of last year, before I was even sworn in, I have fought to keep this office open. This will give the residents of far east El Paso County piece of mind for the next seven months. In the meantime, we will work towards the best long term solution for all." said González.
